SusanB Atlanta, Georgia An absolutely perfect day out with Stu at Lamb’s Knoll. His calm, lighthearted and unflaggingly positive demeanor kept the fear at bay for these three 40-something newbs. And he kept us laughing and made sure we got some incredible photos. The experience was exactly what we were looking for. Amazing way to experience Zion. Would do it again in a second.

cmahls Super fun sunset tour!

Our group of six adults went out for a sunset tour with Stuart—- an extremely knowledgeable guide with a terrific sense of humor. He took us all over the west side of the park, through back roads and mesas, sharing his knowledge of the history, flora and ecology of the park. We feel very fortunate that he was our guide! There was no jeep, however—- so if this is important to you, please ask before booking. We were given a choice of vehicles but a jeep was not one of them. This did not matter to us and we were safe (and warm) as we watched the sun going down on stunning landscapes. Well worth the time and money!

Ann M Thank you Stuart! Fantastic ride!

We did the 5 hour mountain biking trip to the JEM trail. The first half was a nice challenge to get to the top of the mesa, and the second half was nothing but pure fun going down with lots of nice twists and turns. The highlight of our trip was our guide, Stuart. He is a genuine treasure! Our group included myself, my husband and our 4 children, ages 9-16. Our 12 year old son wasn't feeling well and really struggled with the first half. He is not a natural athlete and, by nature, does not enjoy activity like mountain biking. Stuart quickly took him under his wing and his encouragement and positivity is what got Alex up that mountain. Alex was so proud of himself and it was a real confidence builder. At the end of our trip to Utah, which included horseback riding, hikes, etc. I asked all the kids what their favorite part was, and Alex said the mountain biking trip! That is all thanks to Stuart; I know he made a long-lasting impact on our son. My 16 year old son is our mountain biking lover and he also enjoyed this trip immensely. My 2 daughters also thought it was great. We all loved our experience and highly recommend it!

Half day mountain biking with guides Stu - he was awesome!! We got fitted at the shop in Springdale (on some legit Kona full suspension bikes), and then we drove in a van out to the trail. Views were awesome, and the riding was great! We rode up to the top of a mesa, which took us about 1:30, and then rode back down to the van for about 1:00. Trail was a tear-drop style. Italia rode in the back and was so kind to take pics of us when she could Stu was great - figured out our ability, gave good tips, got us in a good headspace, and stopped to rest when we should have. But once all that was covered, we crushed!! Trail was fast, lots of side-hits, and if you take the "blue" parts, there were some wicked straight lines. I believe it was Gould Rim that we rode back (downhill) on. But if someone was less experienced, there were "green" ways around all the harder lines. Stoke was high on the van ride back!! **One tip from me - if you do this in the summer, get out really early!

Shelly W Full Day Canyoneering - A lifetime experience

We did a full day canyoneering day with Stu to Lambs Knoll. We hiked up in the snow, up the mountain, and rappeled down Eye of the Tiger, Cobra and Pride Rock. We had a totally awesome day in the snow. The shop helped provide snow shoes, snow pants and the transportation to and from the shop. Stu kept it very safe, roping in over possible icy traverses. He was very informative on technique and safety. The day was a wonderful experience because of his love of the area, the sport, and the adventure. If you do not know how to rock climb outdoors (we had zero experience), Stu was very reassuring, helpful, positive and watchful. We would definitely come back to canyoneer again. Call the shop if you are interested. Larry was really helpful arranging a guide and making our day trip happen.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE! Fantastic experience with Guru Stu and the Zion Guide. We wanted to add more adventure to wonderful hiking in southern Utah, and Stu delivered! The Guru led us to Lamb's Knoll, where he expertly led us up the mountain to breathtaking views and even an impromptu yoga session on beautiful red sandstone hundreds of feet above a wide, green high meadow. But he really kicked the trip into high gear with a series of masterful rappels that had our hearts pumping ands our souls mellowing. As novices, our anxiety was high until Stu carefully taught us how to use the equipment, how to safely step over the edge, and how to enjoy the physical challenge and emotional release of hanging by a rope on the side of a cliff way above the trees, surrounded only by Mother Nature. It was exhilarating and calming at the same time. Stu is a rare human; an experienced professional guide, with insights and knowledge that go beyond the mountains, who loves revealing its beauty and wonders to his clients. Can't wait to come back !!

Great family canyoneering with Stewart!! We just took a family canyoneering trip with Stewart in Zion with our 10 & 11 year old kids. It was a trip of a lifetime! I am a bit of a scaredy-cat, but Stewart took everything very slowly with me and was very calm, which really helped me. He was great with our kids and really fun to hang out with. The canyoneering itself was AMAZING. Such gorgeous views and a really cool way to experience Zion! I would highly recommend Stewart!

The Most Incredible Experience! I booked a last minute solo hiking guide on Thanksgiving, when it was supposed to rain, and I was worried that the weather would be too bad to go out, however, when I woke up that morning, it was snowing! I showed up at Zion Rock & Mountain Guide to be greeted by Guru-Stu and Larry, who are just some of the most genuine people I’ve ever met and made my morning getting ready there a blast. Guru-Stu was my tour guide for the day and informed me that the snow would make the canyoneering experience out of this world! I was nervous because I’ve never done anything like that before but he assured me it would be one of the most memorable first experiences in Zion I could ask for. AND HE WAS RIGHT! We drove through the most beautiful landscape imaginable, stopped, took pictures, and then hiked to Lambs Knoll in this absolute winter wonderland to repel into these small canyons with mini waterfalls and the snow falling from the sky. I was very nervous repelling down, but Guru-Stu was incredibly patient and knowledgeable, giving me the confidence to continue on. I couldn’t have asked for a better Thanksgiving experience in the most magical place, with the best tour guide I ever could have asked for. They went above and beyond to provide me with an experience I could never forget. If I could give this place a 10/5 review, I would. I’ll be back in Zion one day soon, and will ALWAYS use this guide service. Thank you (:

Transcendent Experience! Apr 2022 We chose the 1/2 day Family Canyoneering Adventure for our 2 adult, 4 kid (14, 12, 11, 8) group. Stuart was more than a guide: he was a sage, motivator, comedian and instructor...truly a unique individual whose talents are numerous. We definitely are not 'experienced' rock climbers or mountaineers, and Stuart made us feel safe and ensured we had the maximum amount of fun given our novices and struggles. Stunningly Unbelievable Apr 2021 We decided part of the Zion experience was learning to rappel and what better place! We spoke to Zion Rock & Mountain Guides and really loved the Lambs Knoll rappelling idea. Others we spoke to sounded far more advanced than what we were looking for. We knew we would get "educated" before heading out. We spoke to Curtis, then Larry and our guide for the day was Stuart (I believe he was the head or lead guide) It was simply amazing from start to finish! Stu took the time to go over everything with us at the shop and when out in the canyons, he was very solicitous, kind, patient, spiritual, motivating and sassy! :) We did all 3 rappels without injuring ourselves or falling to our death! And we loved it in spite of the fear! Bragging rights to us as well as Stu for making this happen! Kudos!

Epic family adventure! Apr 2021 We had an epic canyoneering experience with our guide Stu. It was our first time rappelling and Stu was incredibly kind, patient and empowering. It is an excellent idea to start thinking about what you will take with you on your expedition. You will want to have water, snacks, clothing for the expected weather conditions, the best of your devices with available memory, and a full charge for your journey. Shoes that are comfortable and have good grip. Sunglasses so that you can look cool. And please bring a balanced attitude and a good sense of humor.
